STYLE TIPS FOR TRADE SHOWS

Trade shows offer your business the opportunity to make connections and increase brand recognition among potential customers. However, because the time window is short, it's important to make a good impression right away. The right apparel goes a long way to making your team look professional. Here are a few tips to help you dress for success.

DRESS FOR YOUR INDUSTRY

If you're headed to a real estate or financial convention, a suit jacket or blazer is a must, as well as a crisp dress shirt or custom business work blouse. However, if your business is personal fitness or sport, activewear may be more appropriate. Ultimately, it comes down to what clients expect in your industry, and most trade show teams will look presentable and approachable in embroidered work polo shirts or dress shirts. One rule of thumb: try to dress up a little more than attendees.

DRESS FOR COMFORT

At a trade show or expo, you're not in control of the thermostat. So it's a good idea to take a sweater or fleece jacket to layer on if the convention hall gets drafty. If you're headed somewhere warm, breathable and moisture-wicking clothing will keep you comfortable if you heat up enough to break a sweat.

COORDINATE YOUR TEAM LOOK

Trade show weekend is not the time to break in your brand-new brogues or heels. You're going to be on your feet a lot, so be sensible when it comes to footwear. Blisters are the last thing you need.
